THE VINEYARD

In the early 1900’s grapes are believed to have arrived to Indonesia by Pilgrims returning from Mecca.Alphonse‐Lavallee grapes were thought to be brought to Bali by Javanese fishermen. settling on the North Coast during the 70’s. Balinese farmers planted Alphonse‐Lavalleé grapes for local consumption, and Hindu offerings. Due to the tropical climate and rich soil, growers are able to harvest 3 to 4 times a year In 2000, Hatten wines established a 14.5 hectare vineyard consisting of white grapes: Muscat of Alexandria and Probolinggo Biru. Today, the total land of Hatten Wines vineyardsis around 34.5 ha on the North Coast Bali.
